Simply Miraculous

The birth of a child is a daily miracle. It's absolutely amazing how a tiny little one comes into the world and causes such an intense, overwhelming love. I was blessed to spend a morning with this new family. These parents are sooo in love with their sweet little one. Here is a little glimpe of the special morning I had with this family.

Oh, the tiny toes, the gentle grip of a baby's hand, the newborn stretches and yawns. Simply miraculous!

Write them on the doorframes

It was an absolute pleasure photographing these three sisters. They were such a delight. I left this home inspired. Inspired by the way their parents make their home a priority. This was seen by the pictures of their family/children displayed throughout the home and the affirming words and scripture etched on the walls.

Their mom loved inspiring words and asked that a photograph might have the following saying attached...

Her family's etchings reminded me of the scripture.
"Love the Lord you God with all your heart and will all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deut. 6: 5-9

Sweet Beauty

I love photographing babies that are 6 -10 months old. They are sitting, exploring, but not necessarily moving around too fast :) There is a simple sweetness about their exploration that I love to watch. This little beauty captured my attention. It did not help that she was in a tutu.

What a sweet beauty!

Awe -struck

It's been raining here.
I mean raining!
Floods,
Tornado sightings,
Constant raindrops
on the roof.
It's been like that for a few days.
But...
this evening
there was a moment
of absolute glory.
The sky brightened
with multiple colors of
oranges and yellows.
And then I saw this...

This picture does not do it justice.
It was a vibrant
double rainbow
reaching from ground to ground,
leaping out for everyone to see.
But that was
not all.
God was wanting
to show more of his
GLORY
in His creation.
The rainbow was set in the eastern sky.
This was seen in the west.

This shot is straight out of the camera. No post-processing needed.

Absolutely awe-struck by God's beauty.

Blew me away. - Jen

Returning to my roots

I have always considered myself a city girl. I was raised in a city and feel comfortable with all the conveniences nearby. However, I have been realizing that I enjoy the country life especially this time of year. With the hayfields, sunflowers, apple orchards, and pumkin patches, I cannot get enough. My husband has been reaping the benefits; homemade apple butter, blueberry pie, blackberry crisp, pumkin bread. Yummy!
My dad was raised on a farm, and I am now wondering what it would have been like if he had decided to keep the family farm instead of going to the city.
Here are some pictures of my kiddos picking apples in an orchard.

I know you want to... Go to an apple orchard. You will not regret it! - Jen

At sunset

At the end of one of my sunflower photo shoots, the kids had just warmed up to the camera and were ready to pose. Silhouettes are too fun!

More sunflowers

I love pictures of kids feet! When I was taking this shot, I apologetically said to the mom "sorry, but I love to take pictures of kids feet." It turns out she has ordered a 10 x 20 mounted on matboard of this picture. So maybe I'm not the only one :)

Aren't these kids absolutely adorable! They were so easy going and mild natured. An absolute pleasure to photograph. Thanks so much!
