Do cows eat grass?

Even super thought out photo shoots, perfectly planned
can change in an instant.
Flexibility is key.
And this sweet family went with the flow.
And because of their flexibility
fun, beautiful portraits were the result.

Do cows eat grass?
Well a dad pretending to be a cow does.
"J" family - you are AWESOME!

Ten on Tuesday

1. This week is a busy week for me. With Parents As Teachers and editing photos, I am scared to say how many hours I will be working.

2. There is something fun about downloading images and looking through them. There's always one in every photo shoot that I just absolutely love. Love to the point of wanting a canvas of it, but that would be kind of weird having pictures all over my house of other people's families.

3. I'm having a dilemna with my girl. I cannot keep up with her craft demands. She wants to craft 2-3 hours a day. My supply keeps going low. Any suggestions?

4. And then what do you do with all the finished craft products? My house is turning into an art display in not a clean organized way. My girl's projects are on the frig, in her room, on the floor, on tables throughout the house.

5. I need a house cleaner, especially during the busy photo shoot months. Who am I kidding, I would like one year round.

6. My son lost his second tooth. It had been dangling for days. Finally on Saturday at a friend's home, my son pushed the tooth with his tongue and it popped out.

7. My husband sent me a sweet message via FB inbox that made my day!

8. I'm having a hard time filling up 10 for "Ten on Tuesday."

9. Maybe I should show a collage of a recent photo shoot.

10. I love parent child interactions:

Senior

This handsome guy is in his last year of high school.
He plans on attending KU.
Such a smart guy.
Rock Chalk!

Boys and a Truck

I love it when families have an idea for their photo shoot.
This mom has been talking about this truck for months.
When I saw the truck I giggled with glee.
Woo hoo.
How fun is a family of boys and a truck.

Thanks "M" family. It was fun!

Perfectly coordinated

This cute family was perfectly coordinated with the fall leaves.

I had to squeeze an individual shot of this cutie pie. His dimples and blond curls are to die for.

Their smiles and playful fun nature made my job easy. Thanks "B" family.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I'm going to try this popular "Ten on Tuesday." One of my favorite blogger/photographer does it and I love reading her blog on Tuesdays.

2. This past weekend I flew solo to Dallas to meet up with these gals:

3. I literally hadn't seen these gals in 19+ years. It truly feels like I graduated high school 10 years ago, not (cough) 19. Plus I don't think anyone looks like they have aged either, beautiful as ever. We flew/drove in from all over, Colorado, Ohio, Tennessee, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

4. My favorite part about being in Dallas was hearing my high school friends' life stories, reconnecting, eating wonderful food and relaxing in the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was outside on the upper deck of this hotel:

5. But my favorite of the whole weekend was getting off the plane in KC and having my children run into my arms. They missed me and it was evident. We all held hands, my girl, my boy, my husband and I. It felt good being back. Unconditional love does that to you.

6. My husband is pretty awesome. While I was gone, he cleaned out the refrigerator and the microwave. Yeah, pretty awesome.

7. My husband stated that the kids kept saying things to him like, "I didn't know you could clean." Or "How do you know which medicine I take." Distance does make the heart grow fonder.

8. I think I may have to make another solo trip in a couple years.

9. Speaking of a couple years, right before my high school friends departed our separate ways we talked about goals we wanted to obtain in the next five years. I hope in the next 5-7 years to take a mission trip to Africa with my family. This young missionary is an inspiration http://www.kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com/

10. Well, I did it. I completed the ten. Hopefully I will be consistent with it. Later - Jen

Birthday condolence

Yesterday was my birthday, and I received this card:

I'm still cracking up. Rumor has it that this couple buys cards just to change them around a bit.
HILARIOUS!
To protect the anonymity of this person(s), I erased her sweet comments through the magic of photoshop.
But if you live near me, you just may know who.

Glasses

I have a thing about little kids in glasses.
Maybe it's because my son has glasses or
Maybe it's just because kids in glasses are
so darn CUTE!

Here's proof......

And his twin sister is pretty cute herself.

What a fun threesome!

Thank "K" family! I enjoyed my time with your family. Your kids are a lot of fun.

Field Trip

To the pumpkin patch.
This was my first field trip with my daughter.
I still can't believe she is old enough to go on a school field trip.
Yes, it's preschool, but still.
It was the perfect morning.

My girl's two favorite things about the field trip: "making a craft" and "going down the big slide."
Kerby pumpkin patch is a lot of fun.
Check it out.
I'm hoping to go to a few more pumpkin patches around the area, if my kids let me.
