Merry Christmas

From my home to yours
Praying for a very blessed Christmas!

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Luke 2:8-14

Ten on Tuesday

1. Woo hoo. It's winter break! To start if off, my kids and I went to "Play, Bounce, Jump" right after school today. We then met the hubby for dinner. No cooking for me. Woo hoo!

2. Today a) I had my last home visit for Parents As Teachers for 2010.
b) mailed our Christmas cards/letters out. Family and friends, be on the look out.
c. finished my Christmas shopping.
d. All of the above

3. This past week seems like it has been many weeks combined. Especially since my daughter had her birthday party last Friday evening. It seems like weeks ago since I made her cake.

4. Every year the cake gets simpler. For the record the roses were store bought.

5. My girl had a pajama party. Her friends danced, ate popcorn, and watched a movie.

6. I confess, a pillow fight did erupt.

7. The best part about the party was that the kiddos left our home around 9:00 pm.
Actually this was one of the easiest parties I have done for my kids.

8. The night before this birthday bash, my girl made her first stage debut in her preschool Christmas program. All the kids did an excellent job. I'm really impressed with the teachers and this school!

9. If you are a facebook friend of mine you may have read my blog post last week. I had posted that a young girl half my age with purple streaks in her hair complimented my boots. She went on to ask where I had purchased the boots. In a brief moment I thought, 'Am I too old to wear these boots?' I of course said no, but many asked to see the boots. So here they are.....

10. I am so looking forward to reflecting on Christ's birth and spending time with family. I love the end of what my husband wrote on our Christmas letter. "We pray that you would be able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday and get"wrapped" up in the ultimate gift that was given. " That is my prayer for you!

Baby love

The newness of a babe, the flaky skin on her feet, the clenched hands, the grunts.
It only lasts about a month and its over.
Ahhhh......
the sweetness.

This sweet babe's mom hinted about seeing a preview soon.
The anticipation kills her.
Lucky for her I had time today,
to show off their new angelic one.

Big brother was so sweet with her.

Got your baby fix. I sure did!
Thanks "T" family. It's always a pleasure taking pictures of your family!

Senior

This young man's mom is dear to my heart.
She worked with me for quite a few years.
She knows how to raise her children well.

Her third child is graduating from high school this spring.
He wants to study sign language and
hopes to go into the ministry working with children in Africa.

May God keep you firmly planted in His steps.
May you seek Him in all that you do.
God bless. - Jen

A boy meets a girl

I love stories about how people meet.
This fun couple met on a basketball court.

She was a college senior basketball player. He was a ref.
I guess she didn't like the call he made against her.
And made this VERY known.
So known that her mom apologized to him later at a social that night.
This guy won the mom over and turns out the mom convinced her basketball daughter
to get acquainted with the "bad call" ref.
They end up marrying about 5 months later.
Go forward about 30 years.......

They have two beautiful daughters and a gorgeous grandbaby.

Look at the proud aunt.

You can tell there is a lot of fun and laughter with this family.

Thanks so much. It was so fun and such a pleasure getting to know your family!
