Returning to my roots
I have always considered myself a city girl. I was raised in a city and feel comfortable with all the conveniences nearby. However, I have been realizing that I enjoy the country life especially this time of year. With the hayfields, sunflowers, apple orchards, and pumkin patches, I cannot get enough. My husband has been reaping the benefits; homemade apple butter, blueberry pie, blackberry crisp, pumkin bread. Yummy!
My dad was raised on a farm, and I am now wondering what it would have been like if he had decided to keep the family farm instead of going to the city.
Here are some pictures of my kiddos picking apples in an orchard.

At sunset
At the end of one of my sunflower photo shoots, the kids had just warmed up to the camera and were ready to pose. Silhouettes are too fun!

More sunflowers
I love pictures of kids feet! When I was taking this shot, I apologetically said to the mom "sorry, but I love to take pictures of kids feet." It turns out she has ordered a 10 x 20 mounted on matboard of this picture. So maybe I'm not the only one :)

Aren't these kids absolutely adorable! They were so easy going and mild natured. An absolute pleasure to photograph. Thanks so much!

Sunflower bliss
One of the most generous people I know, e-mailed me and stated she wanted her children photographed in the sunflowers. I was honored. Ann literally gives of her time, knowledge and resources to help her friends. It was such a pleasure to spend the evening with them and possibly give her back a cherished memory. Ann is beautiful inwardly, and as you can see she and her children are gorgeous outwardly.
This picture was taken after the directions of kissing the brother. I was expecting him to make a face, but instead it was older sister repulsed by the idea, and he looked as if he was enjoying the attention.
