When it rains.....

What to do?
Photo shoot scheduled
with an extended family from Iowa, Nebraska, Arizona.
It was the last day where everyone was planning on being together.
It was raining, and raining, and raining.
The radar on weather.com showed more rain in the future.
What does this family do?
They said bring on the photo shoot!

They were such great sports! What a fun family.
I'm sure they will be talking about this photo shoot for years.
We were able to get a few traditional shots in between rain showers.
Here is one.

Despite the rain, I think I was able to capture something special about this family.
Their laughter.

Just because he's just so...

CUTE!

Beautiful baby

I know boys are not suppose to be beautiful,
but this baby boy is
BEAUTIFUL.

On facebook this baby boy's momma posted this,
"I met a new boy this week and have completely fallen in love."

Yeah, I can see why.
Adorable, sweet, calm natured.

Can you guess how much this bundle of love weighed at birth over a week ago?

There's something I like....

About this girl.


Maybe it's because she struck a pose when I said that she was going to be a model for me.



Maybe it's because she lit up and smiled contagiously when she was with her mom.


Maybe it's because she asked her grandma to come play "tea" with her.



Maybe it's because she gave me a hug at the end of the photo shoot.



Whatever the reason, I think this girl is pretty special. And definitely loved by mom and grandma.

Four generations

I will be having sneak peeks galore this week.
I'm starting with this awesome God loving family of four generations.
The center of the family is this beautiful woman....



Her crystal blue eyes radiated beauty, but also expressed wisdom.
I commented to her that she looked to be a woman of great wisdom.
She humbly responded, "God has blessed me."
Blessed her indeed!

SEVEN

My boy turned seven today.
That's him at his birthday party.
His wet, mud splattered seven year old self.



For this year's party, I went back to the basics.
A water tub and water sprayers.



I need to remind myself that kids really don't need expensive stuff to have fun.
(The water sprayers are from Dollar Tree, one buck. You can't go wrong.)






They found a mud puddle, or should I say they made a mud puddle.






Sweet childhood fun.
My son- I hope you remember your childhood with fond memories of family and friends.
And with a security that your family loves you, but more importantly that God loves you.

Anniversary Retreat

My husband and I just got back from our 15th wedding anniversary retreat at Beaver Lake Cottages in Eureka Spring, Arkansas.

Upon entering the cottage and looking out the window, this is what we saw:
